My Story
I signed up to sell Scentsy because a friend from college who I was on the women’s rowing team with had been doing so for awhile and it looked like a fun thing to try! She didn’t even try and recruit me! I had actually been brainstorming ideas for where to buy candles in bulk for another project I was working on and thought about my friend and her Scentsy business. I had seen her posts on social media, and had noticed her growth and transformation over the years as she became a Super-Star Director. It’s been so amazing to see her journey! I didn’t end up finding any bulk candles to order for my project that day (Scentsy goes wickless as a key feature that sets them apart from other companies I quickly learned), however, I made the choice to become an independent consultant and I’ll never look back.
With joining Scentsy, it was so easy to get started and there are countless tools and resources set in place already to guide success. But, I know that success is very much in my own hands and will be in direct relation to how much effort and work I’m willing to put in. One thing I know about Steffie (my sponsor) is that her work ethic is ridiculous. I’ve seen it during crew practices and also in her business! It makes total sense why she made it all the way to the very top level in the company! So I’m really glad she is my sponsor, and that I have such a great role model to follow. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me also, but most of all, for all the great people I get to work with and meet!
Regarding some of Scentsy’s products - I’ve always loved essential oils, so I’m LOVING those! Especially the blends - “Calm,” “Clear,” and “Rest.” Also, now I’ve tried the wax melts and tested all the different fragrances - I’ve found my favorite scents that I can happily use in constant rotation (by joining Scentsy club and setting a delivery frequency rate - I’ll ALWAYS be able to get those scents, even if they are discontinued!). To have found products I love and that help make me happy is important to me - because that is the goal of my business: to help make your life happier one scent at a time! If I haven’t done that myself, I would not be able to share that with others. And if I haven’t helped bring more happiness into your life, then I’m not succeeding. That’s why it is called Kayla’s HAPPY Scents y’all! :) Some of the other products I’ve enjoyed discovering are the laundry products (makes my sheets and towels smell a-maz-ing!), body care line (Go-Go Mango anyone?), pet care line (my dog and cat have never smelled this good!), and the Scentsy buddies for kids! There really is something there for everyone!
Overall, joining Scentsy has taught me more about how to manage a business, get out of my comfort zone, and use my creativity than any other job I’ve had thus far in life. I also get to become a social butterfly (which, as an anxious introvert is an especially rewarding challenge to overcome)! There are tools, information, and support available to help that are endless. Plus it’s given me a challenge that will consistently increase in relation to the work I put in, and there’s opportunity for growth on the path ahead (including travel possibilities!). There are fun products to try and share, and above all - GREAT PEOPLE to work with and share this journey with! I’m so thankful for the people I’ve already met who are a part of my team, and I can’t wait to keep learning, working, and meeting with more friends along the way! It truly has brought more happiness into my life!
